The Magical Disneyland

There is a story about the magical word, it is not about what behind it, but rather how the word was used in mama conversation with the hotel there, I will come back to that later. But for now lets look at the photos I posted below. The magic of Disneyland, the cartoon characters, the movies and adventures we got to see up close and personal, well, almost.

We don't expect the weather to be hot, so babah wore a sweater and mama a cardigan. Of course mama can take off her cardigan and Adeeb his hooded top sweater, but babah wore nothing under his sweater and had to put up with sweat and what come with it. We managed to have this picture of the four of us after babah helped a Filipino family to take theirs. I noticed a lot of Filipinos in Hong Kong and they mistaken us as one of them.Hmmm, I don't blame them. You can see in our face, brimming with smiles and excitement. Imagine, we have been waiting to visit this place for months, and finally this was the day!
Tomorrow Land was our first destination, the reason? Because it is located nearest to the entrance and err, children-friendly I supposed. It wasn't that exciting, as the ride was a familiar ride featured at almost all theme parks. Hmm, lets see what else do they have..

Then, The Adventure Land, located next to Tomorrow Land. At first I thought this is familiar! A river cruise? Hmm, well you won't believe how it turned out, I was scared to death. Imagine, the huge crocodiles trying to attacked us, human skulls floating in the river, gorrillas shooting at us, I mean shooting, with shot guns! And fire came out of a cave near us and the river was almost set on fire. Holy cow! I was terrified. I couldn;t wait to get out of the boat!!

I told mama, no more scary ride ok. So next we went to see the Lion King play. I haven't the faintest idea, what on earth was Lion King until I see this show. I definitely going to get the DVD of all the movies after this show. This is classic guys. How come I know nothing about Simba and his friends? Anyway, the show was, superb! As we sat at the front row, we got to shake hands with the actors.

I will post other pictures later okay, the Small World, Toy Story Land and what we had for lunch. A halal restaurant that served Indian cuisines and even Laksa Penang! Till then, thanks for viewing.

Madame Tussauds Hong Kong

As promised, I posted below photos taken in the wax museum.. they look real in pictures, but they do look like wax statues look up close.. Adeeb wasn't featured a lot in this post because he was not in the mood to take pictures with the wax statues he doesn't even know their names he said. These things, he said, are nothing compared to the Ultramen collections he already had.. sigh*. Anyway, enjoy the photos below ya, thanks..
Mama told me not to get too close to Tiger Woods, come on Ma, I am only 5, hehe
err.. it's not everyday that we can dine with Ms Piggy and Mr Porky, right? hehe..
I particularly love the pic with The President of United States

Hong Kong.. here we come!

It's been a while.. a year to be exact, or maybe more that we have not been posting anything here. I don't know how to start this, I almost forgot what and how to write. Hmm, just an update, we've been to places we have never been to before in the past one year, like Singapore, Johor Bahru, Bali and the latest Hong Kong. There is no intention to show off, but this blog is for us to share with family members and close friends photos of our travel in and outside the country. So far this is the farthest we have ever been to. There is plan to travel farther, but work commitment and err.. current bank accounts do not seem to allow it. So for this post, let see what we have been doing in Hong Kong in April.
The flight fares are not that expensive, believe it or not, it was cheaper than KUL-KCH-KUL! Slightly over a thousand ringgit, and that was after baggage charges. The hotel was a little expensive, but you may opt for smaller hotel or budget hotel but with way smaller space. This one that we stayed for two nights was spacious, with small kitchen complete with stove and hood. You can see in the photo above, that I got my own bed. And the wifi spot in each room, was fast! Mama loved it for sure, coz she won't miss her favorite drama series.
The weather was cloudy and rainy. It was drizzling the whole of our next day trip to Hong Kong Island. April is supposed to be a great month to visit Hong Kong, I guess we weren't that lucky.
We took The Big Bus Tour around the island, so it was easy to hop in and out of the bus, the big double deck bus. But, it was raining so we didn't get to enjoy the view from the top floor
It was ok, coz we still got to climb the Victoria Peak and spent more time in the Madame Tussauds wax museum. It wasn't that hard to get here, you can use either bus or Peak Tram. The queue for the tram was not that long. I remember, the queue to Penang Hill train was longer than that.

There are more pictures during our visit to Madame Tussauds, I promise to post them here soon ok. Then, I will be posting pictures of our trip to the magical Disney Land. Thanks for viewing :)

KL in February

I love KL, who doesn't? When I was staying in Bintulu, KL was just a distant city I could only see on TV, now that I am here staying on the outskirt of this big city, why not enjoy exploring it while we still can, right? We'll be returning to Bintulu probably in a year's time. Hmm... don't get me wrong, I love Bintulu, in fact I think every small town has character, be it Betong in Sarawak or Bentong, in Pahang, they have something to offer. For the uninitiated, currently Bintulu is home to the world's largest liquefied natural gas production facility on a single site, with an annual production of 23 million tonnes! If you calculate it in kilograms, that would mean trillions, right babah? Or need I mention to you that it has the first Gas To Liquid plant operated by Shell MDS? With 95% of the profit goes to Federal Government coffers, I can proudly declare that, my hometown plays very very important part in building this nation. Don't you think so? Anyway, I would grow up and working in remote places in the future, who knows but I am game for it, but as it is now, I want to enjoy exploring this city.. Adeeb, you wanna come with me boy? Adeeb, says, err.. which part, the Betong part or the .. cut the crap Adeeb, lets gooo!!

I suggested to babah that we stay in a hotel so that we have more time to spend there. Through www.agoda.com we found out that there is a budget hotel, that we have not heard of, with new amenities, located at Bukit Bintang area and it's called Sky Hotel. It offered great price if booking is made through agoda. So on the 6th day of February we went to KL for the city outing, we left home early as we plan to visit KL Tower before we check into the hotel. I've been dreaming to visit the tower, to see what it is like looking at the city from more than 100 meters above..

Wow.. it's the tallest telecommunication tower in the world? How come babah didn't know that? Babah said only 0.00000000001% of the world population aware of that, so he is in the majority side.. hehe after all, it is very hard to stay as the tallest, people all around the world built buildings and towers just about everyday, you maybe the tallest today, but tomorrow you may not. Just like me and Adeeb, I maybe taller than him now, but he will outgrow me for sure, right mama?

There are actually other activities to do other than climbing 125 meters tower on the elevator and watch buildings from the observation deck, but being a cheapo he is, babah didn't listen to me and Adeeb request to see Animal Zone and to try out F1 simulator.. grrrrr

Instead he treated us to this boring pony ride. Just kidding, anyway, thanks babah.. I love ponies and this was my dream came true as well, the queue was not long, unfortunately so was the ride, probably about 5 minutes ride circling the tower and the weather was hot.. and it wasn't fun, the management have to think of something to make the ride more fun, the driver, for example, if I can call him a driver, should be more friendly, he didn't utter a single word, ok maybe one or two, but it should be more than just a ride, it should be a session to explain and give information about the tower or anything, as long as it's not politics.. Adeeb said : you are right kakak.. , now finally Adeeb has something he could agree with me hehe..

After that we went to the hotel right on time for check in about 2 pm. The room is comfy, it has large bed and beautifully designed bathroom, but beware because the wall is made of glass and if you shower in nude, errr like me, you won't feel comfortable.. hehe I have not much complaint except that the airconditioning was poor, as we have to change room due to leakage aircond unit and the replacement room was not cold enough.. and the almost non-existence lobby, but the security personel are super nice though..

After check in, we went out walking along the Jalan Bukit Bintang, so many things to see there especially at night, and we ended up window shopping at the Pavillion

My first beary experience, bears were everywhere.. from around the globe, our bear was painted by cartoonist Imuda, a veteran artist only mama and babah knows hehe..

but inside the Pavillion we finally found what we looking for, a GAP store and we ended up buying GAP jeans for the four of us.. thanks mama!

I can't recall the name of the store, it could be Marvel Comic or something and me and Adeeb had fun inside the store, we buy nothing though. Marvel certainly doesn't sell Ultraman and Barbies, right Adeeb?

After that, we had our early dinner at the nearest Nando's in Bukit Bintang, as usual they will forget that we ordered desserts, hmmm.. it happens at all Nando's, I wonder why, I guess they need to include this in their training materials for staff

The hotel doesn't serve breakfast, I couldn't recall if they have restaurant, but hey there are plenty of good restaurants around. But that didn't mean that we eat at any of them, babah brought something last night when he went shopping alone around the Bukit Bintang Walk, so we ate inside. We checked out of the hotel early as we will be heading to Berjaya Times Square after that. You know, Times Square Theme Park.. I just couldn't wait!

We got to ride on almost everything available for us kids with certain age and height, that would mean, 6, 7 rides? We paid so much for so little fun.. pity mama who paid for the entrance.. right mama?

After about 2 hours inside the theme park, we headed for lunch at the Rasa Utara Restaurant. A nice restaurant that serves great food, you really have to try the next time you are here. I love daging salai the most.. hmm yummmyy! We returned to the car after that.. I couldn't remember the journey home, we were all tired and with full stomach, all I can think of is, it was a dreamy drive home.. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Weekend Getaway ~ Seremban

Babah come home this weekend. With additional of two days of public holidays for CNY celebration so I thought we can spend a night somewhere out of town, where would that be? So I helped mama to search in the internet, Port Dickson sounds great but I don't really like beaches. Hmmm.. anywhere as long as we can stay in a hotel. Then mama suggested Royale Bintang Resort & Spa Seremban, and I was like, they have resort in Seremban? Why not..

It is a great hotel.. quite new and located within the town centre

the room is spacious and well equipped, with lazy sofa for me lying down watching tv, and for adeeb sitting and playing with his new gadget.. ahhh heaven..

despite it being a large hotel, the aisle and lobby was surprisingly quiet, you can see me and adeeb running and screaming our lungs out like nobody care , except errr.. mama.. hehe

we don't intend to visit the museums or zoos (is there any?) we just want to stay at the hotel, watch tv, drink sodas and munch crackers than sleep, get up late, eat breakfast and swim. So first thing first, we went to the nearest Jusco to get the supplies of Mamee, Jack N Jills and drinks. I asked Adeeb to load as much as possible crackers, chips whatever you can grab Adeeb, c'mon boy fasttterrr.. before mama said stop..

it was already dark when we left the mall so babah decided that we go for dinner before we return to the hotel. Mama said she read a good review about one steamboat restaurant at Seremban 2 and why don't we go looking for the place and give it a try. It wasn't easy finding the place though, couldn't find it in the GPS. The address was right, so was the road, but we couldn't just find it, not after almost half an hour searching. Fortunately, the food was great, we spent almost 2 hours boiling and grilling assorted seafood, fishcakes, meat and eggs..

the next morning, it was all about food again, well the breakfast spread wasn't disappointing and the restaurant was full house, we were lucky not having to queue for our seats

this is the reason that I love hotels other than breakfast, swimming pools, and my goodness, they have beautiful swimming pool here and I guess this pool is the reason they call themselves a resort.. just my wild guess..

I thought I love pools, but I had just realised that Adeeb is crazy about swimming pools. He went wild jumping and running between the two small pools for kids and he wanted to jump into the larger pool for adults! Goodness me! Adeeb, relax brother, you need to learn how to swim first like me, I'm still learning though hehe..

Happy Belated New Year...

I hope it's not too late to wish you guys a Happy New Year...hmmm I was quite busy lately (I hope that could possibly explain the post update delayed for months *sigh*) mama said that's okay, it's better late than never, rite guys? I have sooo many stories to share - our unforgettable trip to Singapore, Bali, Hong Kong (opppsss that will be next year's plan hehe)...so many post updates to catch up, but I just leave it to babah to do that, will ya babah?

You might be wondering how life is treating us, rite? Well, I've started my school days this year, so now officially I can call myself a student ;) adeeb, wait for your turn next year occay bro? I'm gonna be 4 in April, and yet I've already learned basic things like A-Z, 1-20 in English, 1-10 in Malay, and alif ba ta...I hope by the end of the year I would show babah that I could read the business journals hehehe

adeeb was making fun of my statement...hey little brother, listen to me, when I turn 4, I will write my name on your cute face, do your hear me? when I turn 4 occay? just wait and see *grrr*

so guys, I have to work harder on my spelling and reading parts. For the time being, I just focus on doing my homeworks, over and over again...practice makes perfect maaa...For simple letters like 'i', 'l', and 'o' I can write it down by myself, and the rest I have to beg mama to guide me...most of the times she will get mad at me when I refuse to follow her guidance, and she keeps asking me to finish my homework at school. Hellooo mama, this is supposed to be HOMEwork, not SCHOOLwork okay??? And there was a time when she was too tired to rake over the coals, she just did my homework for me without uttering a single word. I wonder how come she keeps telling people she's an educator when most of the times she seems to lose her endurance and patience easily *sigh*

Don't make it any harder for mama, big sista! She has sooo many things to do ~ struggling with her studies, taking care of us all by herself, and the list goes on...just look at me, I would never bother her with my homework (if I have any la hehe), I just sit back and do my own work :)

sometimes mama let us play with  the samsung galaxy tab and babah's old mobile. Well, we admit that we are not a tech savvy like babah, but we know better how to entertain ourselves when mama is busy ;)

especially for this little brother of mine, he would never let go the tab once mama handed it to him...well you know in one minute mama might change her mind, and she could hiding the tab away from us, so better safe than sorry ;))

okay adeeb, anything you want to add? "hmmm, other than the fact that babah is sooo far far away, life is treating us well..." occay brother, you sound like a genius this time ;)

Lotsa fun @ The Lost World of Tambun

We reached Ipoh about 2:30 pm and went straight to the hotel as it was already check-in time. The hotel, Ritz Garden was.. ermmm.. okay, let's not talk about the hotel, you can check its review in Agoda to find out..but don't ever think that is has anything to do with Ritz Carlton or something. So the next day after breakfast, we went straight to The Lost World of Tambun. The name of the place is already GEMPAK, but let's see how gempak it is..
First, of course like all theme parks, nothing is free, well it's not that pocket-burning expensive, RM45 for adults and RM38 for children. It was raining when we reached there, but who cares, we are all gonna get ourselves WET afterall, right?
this is one of what's left of the Lost World of Tambun, this place could be the altar used for worshiping or something.. all, pose for the camera before we hit the pool and say cheeseeee!
mama and babah took this extreme ride and came out hugging each other.. guest they should take the ride more often eh?.. hehe.. Mama said, it was scary as hell and that would be her last, but it's alright cause she will still be hugging babah once in a while right mama? hehe
it took one man and a boy to carry this giant float..
and it was so huge that all 4 of us could sit on it, for this drifting ride..
mama didn't let me play with Kak Neesa and Kak Tasha here cause the pool is too deep for me..
but this one is for us children, but still with the help of the kakaks.. we were having lots of fun..
but I got bored with the same routine, climb and then slide.. so what's next?
so we proceeded to the hot springs, the water was warm in there..
Kak Tasha is enjoying the water.. all smiling, isn't she lovely, when I grow up I want to be like her..
after the hot springs, we took a shower and change our clothes and it was time for theme park rides. I was disappointed as there were only a handful only.. most of them are not for children below six... I could only watch them play.. sigh
so this was what left for me to play ,as usual, this carousel was the only ride suitable.. boring.. you can see the expression of my face..
then we took a train ride around the park, the train stopped a while for the tiger show, literally, and we were shown how the tiger were fed and that the tiger could jump so high to catch meats thrown at them, pity the animals..
the train ride finished at about 3 pm, how time flies! and we haven't had our lunch yet, so its time to head out of the park and look for souvenirs before we leave for home. Babah bought us this tiger mask for me and bear for Adeeb, mama bought us t-shirts, fridge magnets and key-chains. The journey home would take about 2 hours and most of us fell asleep along the journey home.. my only regret was that we didn't go to the Petting Zoo, due to time constraints, but it was alright cause zoos like that are everywhere..

Good bye Ipoh, till we meet again.. zzzzzzzz
