We missed udak Sepul's wedding in April, coz you know it's not easy for us to fly back to Kuching anytime we like. Babah showed us the pics he took during the wedding, but still it is kinda devastated, not to be there during your own uncle's big day :(
I have a dream of becoming a flower girl for the wedding *sob*sob* after all for us, it's more than just a wedding ~ it's kinda family gathering, an ideal time to meet your friends and relatives, be it close or distant...
Mama told me how she missed his own brother's wedding in 1997. She was in uum in her final semester, and to make things worse, she can't afford it financially to get back home to attend the wedding...and it was barely two months before she came back to kuching for good *sigh*
Therefore, we're not gonna miss wa Jum's wedding this time coz the date is just perfect, 12th June. So mama, adeeb, kak neesa & me checked out early from Ariva Gateway to attend the ceremony in Bako. Wa Jum is mama's first cousin, and mama felt guilty for not staying there longer...well, would you expect a mom of two 'well behaved' kids could survive in crowds? definitely a NO!!! mama acknowledged the fact that without babah around, life would be a disaster for her (yeah one point for babah!). Luckily kak neesa was there with us around the clock, and she helped mama a lot, from being a steadfast helper to a sherpa (ok I'm exaggerating!)
Anyway, we had a great time there despite the fact that mama was entirely exhausted carrying Adeeb all by herself right from the jetty point to nek Ndah's place...the wedding was quite happening, with thousands of people witnessed wa Jum's special day. Mama was so happy meeting her long lost cousins & relatives (really?)...she told me she had the most unforgettable childhood memory in Bako, but as time passed by, she hardly had time & opportunity to visit nekwan's family as often as she used to...in fact sad to say, we only visit nekwan's family in Bako once a year, which is on hari raya...
The best thing about the wedding was, nek Peranchis & family came all the way from Kedah, and also nek Usu with auntie Ida. I tell you when it comes to the agreement on the final date of the weddings, nekwan's siblings are the best...They made sure all their siblings could make it, no matter how far because the most thing matters is to share the joy & happiness with your loved ones...In some ways, the family gathering shows how you welcome the new member in the family, rite babah? wowww I sound like a family expert already hehehe
