A Day to Remember ~ Sunway Lagoon Nov 2011

To tell you guys the truth, I was not feeling well since our previous trip to Melaka. If you guys notice my sullen face during the Melaka trip, you can tell how sickly I look. Even during our day trip to Sunway Lagoon, I was not fully recovered from the cold and to make things worse, mama suffered the same thing. Anyway, trying our best to be a good hostess, we managed to join usu & the kids to the three times winner of Asia's Best Attraction award (2007-2009)

Despite my being pretty sick even to crack a smile for the camera, we really had a great time there especially my little brother...well, considering the fact that it was his first time, his enthusiasm was reasonable to me. I remembered my first trip to this theme park somewhere in 2009, it was nothing much to be frank, perhaps I was too young to have fun back then ;)

We had a carousel ride at the amusement park, it was fun if you enjoy doing something unadventurous hehe... adeeb even requested for another round, but we were running out of time and we didn't want to waste our awfully expensive entrance fees on some boring stuff...there's so much to explore, dear brother so get off your butt and let's get going!

Next, we headed to the wildlife park. You can see that adeeb was not easy to handle hehehe...We were looking for an elephant, or a giraffe at least but there wasn't any in sight...however, there were quite a number of monkeys and some species of birds which reminded me of KL bird park

can't wait to join the crowds at the waterpark ~ our final destination
it was a pity that I can't join them in the waterpark as long as I wanted to huhu... I was suffering diarrhea & left some valuable 'souvenir' at the souvenir shop when mama was shopping for souvenirs, and that's it! mama didn't let me stay any longer in the pool, but the best part was, I got to wear the brand new Sunway t shirt, I guess when you lose something you gain something else ;))

When feyfey and syaza were played out and easily falling asleep, my little brother seemed to have endless fun in the pool...mama had to drag him away from the pool and you can hear him screaming out frantically, LOL...adeeb adeeb, spare some energy for our next trip to the lost world of tambun, dear brother ;))

Melaka Revisited ~ Nov 2011

I have always been fascinated with Bandar Melaka, it's the same way I feel about Kuching.. both are historical cities and both are very unique in their own way. Old buildings are still there.. and in the case of Melaka, it goes way back to 1500s.. if I get the year correct hehe. But it is old and you can still feel it and touch it. But there is no sign that the Kerajaan Melaka was there, the Parameswara or Hang Tuah legacy was just on story book and not on the street of Melaka, you can't feel it as if it wasn't really there and make me wonder if it's just a myth. Prof Khoo could be right.. Well, back to Bandar Melaka, you see, it's the character of the city which is very important.. and not whether they have the tallest twin towers or the largest national flag.. or whatever..

though it was my 3rd time visiting this place, it was actually my first time visiting the Taming Sari tower. Reputed to be the first and probably the only gyro tower in Malaysia which offers spectacular view of the historical city from 80 meters high. Once it reaches the top, it gives us 360-degree spectacular and panoramic view of the city and beyond, as far as the eyes can see..

and this was also our first visit to the Maritime Museum, to be honest we were not really interested with the history of ships or seas or maritime for that matter, but the replica of Flora de La Mar or Flower of The Sea,  in which the museum is located. The replica is not the exact size of the Portuguese ship which sank sometime in 1512 right after the fall of Malacca in the hand of the Portuguese, but it still large enough to house four eras of Malacca maritime history namely the golden era of Malacca Sultanate, Portuguese era, Dutch era and British era up to the time of independence..

while on the way down from the third floor of the ship.. err museum.. we sat at the balcony of the museum enjoying the river view from there..
next we took a cruise along Malacca River..
the boat was full & and a bit congested.. so we didn't really have space to move around to take pictures..
back to the Mahkota Hotel.. our favourite place to stay while in Malacca.. I could see the pool from here, babah promised to take us to the pool tomorrow morning.. yeayyyy!
I was feeling tired and the hot weather made my head dizzy.. so I slept early, babah went to Mahkota Parade with Adeeb and mama stayed with me at the hotel that night..

Luckily when I got up the next day.. my headache was gone.. and we enjoyed our breakfast at the hotel..

after the breakfast we went to the swimming pool as promised.. looking at the pictures, Adeeb was hysterical.. this boy loves water sooo much..  hehe!
we spent about an hour and a half in the pool and checked out of the hotel slightly after 12 pm.. we need to send babah to the airport after that as he was taking the flight to Miri on that evening. I don't want to talk about babah returning to Miri.. coz I hate it so much when it happens.. lucky that Feyfey and Syaza will stay with us for a few days more.. at least something to look forward to while on our journey home..

A Walk to Remember ~ Ikea/Putrajaya

Babah was here for the weekend and additional 2 days leave from work, and coincidentally mama had to attend a training during the same weekend.. Feyfey and Syaza were here, so we couldn't just stay at home right Adeeb? and I said to babah : Adeeb need a haircut.. look at him, he's a mess! So, off we go to Alamanda .. hehe
we had our lunch at the food court at Alamanda and went to Masjid Putrajaya after that..
The weather was hot, so after a few photo shots we returned to the car and babah continued to drive us around Putrajaya and Cyberjaya for sightseeing..Feyfey is not in the pictures because she was sleeping in the car.. hehe
and on Sunday mama asked babah to bring us all to Ikea, if you think that the place is only for grown ups, you are wrong.. we found something here for us kids, like this miniature kitchen cabinet, complete with sink, stove, and all.. and the playground for boys ( err.. we girls play masak-masak only lahh..)
Ikea is not all about furniture.. they serve great food here you know.. we love the weird names, Swedish this.. Swedish that,  but they all normal stuff, like meatballs, chicken wings, french fries etc. hmm yummy? try for yourself..

I-City Revisited ~ Nov 2011

As promised, we went to the I-City in Shah Alam with Syaza & Feyfey.. to show them this beautiful place with millions of LED lights that we've been telling them about..

As expected, there were huge crowd.. and queues for the rides were ridiculously long!! Hmm.. I believed the rides had only been added recently.. this place has slowly turned itself into a theme park!

I wish that the dinosaur could move and roar! It look real though.. but if you look closer and focus at its mouth, you'll see empty bottles people put in it..

I am not really sure if this place has official visiting time, I heard some say that they don't and you can stay here until morning. Hmm.. possible, as this place technically is a public place, you know usual rows of shophouses with mamak restaurants, hotel, offices, kindergartens etc. And when evening comes, it turn into a city of digital lights. But, there's more to this place than the beautiful lights and rides. They also have LaserZone, Snow House, True Discovery Reptile Collection.. etc. Next time, I'll make sure we try everything here otherwise it's a waste of RM10 we pay for the parking.. right mama?

Mama's Bestday ~ 20.11.2011

Birthday celebration in this family has always been an event that I look forward to.. at least there'll be makan-makan. My first birthday was so special that I don't want to forget, but it has somehow slowly fading from my memories.. its still there in my head but not as fresh, guess I'm getting older.. but babah said our memory is like a bank's DVR, it will keep the record for 3 months and will automatically overwrite it with new ones.. and when auditors come and find out that your DVR does not do that, you better have a good explanation for that, otherwise you can forget about getting your big bonus.. ermm.. what a strange analogy.. could it be that.. hmm forget about it..
Enough about the DVR stuff, this year's mama birthday was a special one as we got to celebrate it with my cousins Feyfey and Syaza.. they came for a holiday and coincided with mama's thirty.. errr..th birthday.. so we booked a table at Equatorial Bangi, where else.. this is a great place for eating.. value for money, and most importantly it is very near to our home, 10 minutes and we were already seated and ready to raid the buffet tables..
I told you it was fun sampai gulling-guling gitu..hehe .. by the way, thanks ma for the treat and look forward for the coming birthdays next year.. mine will be in April, babah's in June and Adeeb in September.. and don't forget the other events in between e.g Valentine's (I was advised not to celebrate this, but come on.. just a dinner, can ma?) ..

Eid al-Adha @ Genting

This is the second year we are celebrating Hari Raya Haji in Kajang. Oh I forgot, last year we were away actually. We went to Cherating last year a day before Aidil Adha and I did post something about our trip to Pahang exactly a year earlier. It has somewhat become our habit now to celebrate Aidil Adha in an unconventional ways. And this time around, after solat sunat, we went straight to Genting Highlands for a day trip. Adeeb and me was so excited as we've never been there and I just couldn't stop wondering what will it be like , the City of Excitement.. the city offf... zzzzzzzzz

and when I woke up, we were already at the car park. According to my estimation, we reached the place in less than 2 hours! I thought the journey will be like going to Cameron Highlands but the road leading up to Genting is not as winding. They were right about Genting or Kota Keriangan. But I wasn't been warned about the crowd. It was public holiday on that day, and the place was .. oh my God, so crowded. When we entered the indoor park or the First World Plaza we were lost in the crowd but we managed to locate the ticket counter and mama purchased family package ticket to both indoor and outdoor theme park. Our first game took us about 20 minutes of queuing time..

then, we walked to the outdoor theme park, it was not that far, just outside the plaza..

it was hazy outside, and it was colder.. so we chose to play the carousel first as the queue was shorter

it took us about 15 minutes before we could play this game.. hehe but it was fun, I sat with mama in the red flying jumbo while Adeeb board the yellow one with babah..

of all the ride, this was the scariest one, you should see the video of this ride and you would see me almost crying.. hehe! but I would love to do it again..

it was hazy with a little bit of rain..

Adeeb was sleeping while queuing for this ride.. it was worth the wait.. it took us around the Plaza but as usual, the ride time is shorter than waiting time..

this ride was called Antique Car, the problem is the car was too close to each other that sometimes we couldn't help but hit the car in front..

before we left, babah took us outside to take photos, but not after we took the final ride into the haunted house. I took the car ride with babah, but I didn't really see anything scary, there were screams all the way to the exit door from the loudspeakers and ghost figures everywhere but it was.. hmm not scary at all, to me at least but not for Adeeb and mama as both of them close their eyes all the way to the exit door, surprisingly for someone who love watching ghost movies .. hehe

We left the place at about 5 pm. I was so tired and was sleeping along the journey home. In the spirit of Aidil Adha, babah stopped by to buy lemang and rendang at a stop not far from Gombak Toll. We reached home just in time for Maghrib. After shower we watched the photos and videos of our trip on TV and went to bed early.. tomorrow will be another day and babah promised to take us out again..
