today is the second day of our stay at the hotel.. it was a great morning! not to mention.. it's Aidil Adha.. we should have celebrated this Raya Korban with Nek Usu at her house in Port Dickson, but we badly need this vacation that we decided to just go to Kuantan and stay at this beach resort..
so we probably will not having any of those usual hari raya food.. rendang, lemang and all.. so that morning on the way to the restaurant for our breakfast, I did not expect other than the usual breakfast..
but surprisingly.. they served us lemang, ketupat palas with rendang and serunding daging.. great stuff, I must congratulate the chef for preparing this delicious rendang.. yummyy.. you know how much I love lemang..

if you don't like rendang, they also served this delicious kuah kacang to go with nasi himpit.. unfortunately no satay, babah said, satay probably served to the early birds..
never had enough of this..
no kek lapis sarawak, or kek hati pari.. but kuih cara and other kuihs make up for their absence
Adeeb.. you should try the cereal before you surrender.. it's good for your stomach..
as you can see.. the restaurant was almost empty..
after breakfast.. we were ready to go to Kuantan, for sightseeing..
Adeeb tried to call Kuantan River Cruise operator to check if they are working on Raya Haji. Nobody pick up the phone he said.. bloody @#$%, ooppss pardon my french..
I asked babah to stop at this beautiful blue masjeed, I want my picture taken in front of it..
then we proceeded to Teluk Chempedak Beach.. not far from town centre..
it's a beautiful place for recreation activities.. with its white (almost) sandy beach..but we couldn't just stand there and do nothing.. so I asked babah to go buy us ice-cream..
there is a McDonalds' ice-cream kiosk at the beach.. there is also a full McDonald restaurantand also a KFC
yummy... if maknek seen me with ice-cream, she would definately got mad.. she doesn't like me eating ice-cream.. she said I would get sick..
said it looks scary..
Adeeb wished that he had practiced hard to walk.. so he can join me playing, otherwise he wouldn't be sitting there on his caddy.. See, I told you my bruther.. when I was your age, I could run already.. but not to worry so much, cause boys normally learn slower than girls..
soon after, mama said we are leaving..when I'm enjoying myself so much here..
wait a minute, is this the official residence of Pahang MB?
babah said, none of my concern.. and he drove into town looking for Kuantan River..
it wasn't hard to find, you can see its name written in large capital letter..
mama asked me to check out if the cruise is open today.. so I went there with babah..
unfortunately the gate was locked.. so we headed back to our hotel..
and played at the beach.. babah bought a colourful kite..
Adeeb loved it.. but I couldn't wait to play with sands
but we played too far from the water.. babah said if I were to build sand castle, the sand must be wet..
so we moved closer.. Adeeb surprisingly enjoyed playing in the water
he asked babah to carry him to play with the waves..
but mama called us to return to the shore.. she said it's dangerous for Adeeb to play in the water

so we left the beach and headed to our hotel room..
we didn't take any food since breakfast.. so that night we planned to have seafood dinner at a restaurant not far from our hotel, mama said it will be hard to find restaurant open on Hari Raya day, but she noticed there was one open while we were returning from Kuantan in the afternoon.. so hopefully it will also open at night..
I was all dressed up for the dinner.. it was raining cats and dogs that night so mama asked me to put on my cardigan.. I thought we are going to dine at a 5 star hotel hehe..
babah said since I love food so much why don't I choose from the menu.. I said okay, but no complaint ahh..
I also ordered kerabu daging for mama.. and tomyam seafood
and ikan bakar for babah.. I thought babah won't like it, cause they put sambal on it.. but they assured abah that the sambal contains no belacan.. heee.. and as you can see..the fish, or what's left of it..
when we returned to our hotel.. babah took our his camera and asked us to pose for the camera.. Adeeb said he was tired already and ready to sleep..
so I have to make him smile for the camera.. see brother, you have a killer smile.. heheand he said really kak? ya lah.. everybody loves you until you open your mouth to cry..
he said okay, I will cut on my crying from now on..
next morning, our last day in Cherating, we went to the turtle sanctuary not far from Kampung Cherating.. but sadly it was also closed. Babah said maybe all their staff took raya leave and nobody manning the office so they close lah..
it was time to leave, and Adeeb was worried about the floats, he said we might forget about them.. just like what happened before..
I asked mama if I can help her carry the bag, she said it was heavy.. just let babah carry it
but I said it wasn't heavy.. I could carry it to our car..
while mama was at the counter to pay hotel bills, I asked babah if we can playat the mini garden..
look ma, no hands!
on the way back, we stopped at a souvenir shop near Kpg Cerating to buy t-shirts and souvenirs, and this Adeeb posing with his Cherating tee mama just bought for him..
good bye Cherating.. I was a little bit emotional.. uwaaaa.. I hope one day we will return, hopefully next time we will be able to stay at Club Med.. I don't know about other hotel here, but the level of service is not up to standard, I have to apologise to the staff there or if other tenants feel otherwise, but the staff hardly greet you with a smile, most of them will either look down or look away. We have a few encounters with a guy who was probably the hotel manager, but he never say a word.. didn't even bother to smile. in most hotel in Sarawak that we stayed, even a tukang kebun greets you a good morning or evening.. but the restaurant staff there were more cheerful.. keep it up!
